While our firm conducts in person closings to accommodate the needs of social distancing and the Governor’s “lock down”, please be assured we are maintaining the highest standards required to battle the existing pandemic. We ask our clients to play their part as well by only coming to the office if healthy and alerting us promptly if legal needs arise and they are not able to come to our office. Among the tools available for closings and other document signings:
1. Remote car side closings with gloves and masks;
2. Electronic closings; and
3. Appropriately spaced daily closings among our 5 locations to avoid large gatherings.
In the way of electronic closings, please be aware that the client must find a safe place with computer, camera and microphone in order to take advantage of remote online notarization or total electronic closing procedures.
Also, please be aware that there are variations among clerk of court procedures in the Commonwealth for how to record and exactly what constitutes an “original” document. Perfecting the new options for closings is still a work in progress!”
